Biography

Edwina Moore writes historical romance set in medieval Europe. Her first historical romance, A Knight’s Ransom, won first place in the Romance through the Ages contest sponsored by Hearts through History, a chapter of RWA, and is a finalist in The Molly contest sponsored by the Heart of Denver chapter of RWA.

Seeing the wisdom in the old adage ‘write what you know’ and limit unknowns, Edwina chose fourteenth-century Gascony (southwest France) as the setting of her first romance. How does she know about this topic? She holds a PhD in medieval history and specializes in the history of the Hundred Years War. She’s worked as a teaching assistant, an assistant editor, an adjunct professor, a nanny, a sales clerk, and a substitute teacher.

Moore currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, a terrifyingly bright six-year-old girl, a four-year-old boy who moves like the Juggernaut, and a 13-month-old girl who will call everyone by name except “Mama”. She loves to read, down-hill ski, put on fancy dress to attend the opera, and watch crime shows. She used to sew in a past life (read: in the years before she had children).

Moore also writes light fantasy with romantic subplots.
