Writing News: August 2016

Writing news:

It’s been a good summer for me. A KNIGHT’S RANSOM is finished, and I’m very pleased with it. Yes, some of that pleasure is a direct result of being a finalist (!) in the Colorado Gold contest. I got the call Sunday afternoon and am very excited. Winners will be announced 10 September, so check back then and watch Twitter.

Today I received back judges’ comments on SILVERSNAKE, an M.M. Gallatin fantasy (Puritans, Bible smugglers, and shape-shifting dragons, anyone?). The comments were very positive and encouraging. You know you’re doing something right when the judges say ‘can’t wait to see this in print’.

Today I also submitted THE LIGHT BEARER’S DAUGHTER to Pitch Wars. It’s as good as I can make it, so fingers crossed.

Don’t forget to stop by Facebook for the Anglo-Norman word of the day or to see how terribly my fantasy baseball team is doing (don’t even ask about my MN Twins. Yes, we just swept Cleveland and we have German Wunderkind Max Kepler, but not even that can overcome the worst pitching staff in baseball). I’m in 8th place with a 7-9 record. Sadly, this is a vast improvement over last year.
